DJ JAMIN (SINISTA / ALIAS)
Back in the day only two things mattered, avoiding reality for as long a possible the second being hard house which helped with the first when taken correctly. It all started when during college a young man bought his first set of decks Gemini PT2400's who is know known as The Punisher. With various classics such as the early vicious circle and tidy trax tracks, it had started. Blasting tunes down a little backward welsh village we knew that this was the start of something.Going to and playing at free parties gave me the chance to build on what I had learned. Playing in Local pubs and clubs gave me some contacts that were vital in broadening my horizons. After a few years I moved to Dublin where the hard house scene a lot was bigger than it was in Wales. Little did I know that it would be a turning point in my life,
To the annoyance of the other office workers I started playing with the Ejay series on lunch breaks, and when I returned to Wales I got hold of Propellerheads “Reason”, Many influences came into my music such as BK, Nick sentience and Paul Glazby to name but a few. But the penultimate track for me was DJ Tim and Misjah's "Access" KY jelly babies mix and BK’s “Badass”. Hard house was my first real love so being able to finally produce it was a god send. It took a while to understand the structure of the tracks so there was a lot of copying cd’s. This also helped me to experiment with different sounds and genres.
After a few years Drum and bass seemed to take over at all the parties and clubs and before you know it hard house became second to breaks, this changed things for the better as now I could create a personal sound, one that represented me.
There are some dark drum and bass tracks that are amazing Bad company son of nitrous, John B bland wagon poos. Tracks like that change you. So following suit I am mainly producing drum and bass these days, twisted bass lines and fucked up breaks all a healthy young man needs. There is just so much you can do with DnB its brilliant.
This is 2008 and now you can catch me at Soundz like bass House nights where I have a residency, Im still producing so check out some of the links and give my tracks a listen. I would like to thank everyone for the help for the passed couple of years, especially The Punisher for keeping the Dream alive.
